1976-1977
THE STRUGGLE OF THE BLIND (16mm film, color)

Best Film Award, FIPRESCI 1997 (International Federation of Film Critics). Participated and received awards in many International Festivals, such as the Cannes Film Festival (Director’s Fortnight), the Mannheim Festival 1978, the Locarno Festival 1979, the Festival dei Popoli 1979 and the Salonica Film Festival. 3,000 people signed a petition for the support of the blind after the screening of the film such as Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone De Beauvoir, Michel Foucalt, Costas Gavras, Yves Montand, Ray Charles and others. The film Library of the Centre Georges Pompidou purchased this film in 1980.

THE OTHER MYTH (16mm film, color)

A fifty-minute documentary “film en film” on the shooting of “The Beekeeper”, a film by Theo Angelopoulos. Participated and received awards in many International Festivals such as the Cannes Festival 1987, the Viennale 1987, the Camber Festival 1987 and the 27th Festival of Salonica. It was screened on a cultural cruise of the Mediterranean organized by the French Magazine “Telerama” and at the French Institute of Athens, during a festival dedicated to the director.

A forty-minute documentary on the Homeric Hymn to Apollo, one of the earliest extant works of the ancient Greek literature (7th cent. B.C.). Participated and received awards in International Festivals. It was screened in Universities abroad and at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi.

A voyage to the centre of the Cyclades. Images of the Archipelago along with texts by Albert Camus, Odysseus Elytis and George Seferis. The history of the islands and their people, myth and religion, all those elements that compose the special identity of Mykonos and Delos, in a two-part 40-minute film.

A thirty-minute documentary on the life and political activity of Pericles. The film focuses on his social and cultural program, as well as his precaution to preserve PanHellenic peace. Participated and received awards in International Festivals. It was screened in Universities and libraries abroad. The film participated in the International conference ‘Year of Percles: Democracy, Ancient Drama and Modern Tragedy’, held at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi.

PEOPLE OF PEACE (Digital Beta)

A thirty-five-minute documentary. Music by Mikis Theodorakis. Distinguished personalities participated, such as the Nobel Prize winner Nelson Mandela, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres and others. The documentary was filmed with the support of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO and was placed under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias. The film has been distributed to the National Committees of 192 member-states of UNESCO and to other international agencies.

The Polytechneion has set its seal not only on the country’s scientific life but also on its history, with climactic moments the resistance against the German Occupation and the uprising against the Junta.

ATHENIANS FIGHTING ON BEHALF OF THE GREEKS, 2500 YEARS SINCE THE BATTLE OF MARATHON (High Definition 1920 x1080)

Under the high auspices of His Excellency the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr Karolos Papoulias. A 40-minute film on the historical circumstances, the causes, the progress of the war and the outcome of the Battle of Marathon. Based on texts by Aeschylus, Herodotus, Plato and Pausanias, the film has been screened in the USA, Canada, China, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Lebanon, and elsewhere.

PHILOTHEI, THE ATHENIAN - THE REVOLUTION OF A WOMAN (High Definition 1920 x1080)

A 60-minute dramatized documentary about a remarkable noblewoman who lived in the sixteenth century and dared to defy the authority of Suleiman the Magnificent. She freed men and women from the slave markets and provided refuge for women abused and pregnant, who were exposed to stoning, helping them to escape. She created the first school for women in Europe and founded a hospital, offering free treatment to all religions alike. Her revolutionary activity riled the conqueror and the establishment: she was tortured and killed in 1589.

Filming took place in ATHENS, ISTANBUL, VENICE, and various GREEK ISLANDS.
The movie has been presented at international film festivals and was well reviewed.

LYCIA (16mm film, color)

A series of six forty-minute episodes filmed in 20 towns of Lycia, Rhodes, Kastelorizo, Paris, London and Oxford, with the participation of Greek and foreign academics. Participated and received awards in many International film festivals such as the Festival of Audio-Visual Programs at Cannes (F.I.P.A.) 1989. It was screened at the International Public Television Screening Conference (INPUT ‘90) in Canada, the French “Academie des Lettres et des Arts”. in Paris, the Georges Pompidou Centre, the Louvre Museum, the British Museum and American and European Universities. The director received the “GREEK ACADEMY AWARD” for LYCIA, to honor her “For preserving in perpetuity, the historical and cultural heritage of the Greeks, through her art as a film director”.

A series of 8 twenty-minute episodes. A voyage in time and space based on ancient and byzantine texts, with history, landscape and monuments as the compass.  Participated and received awards in International Festivals. It was screened in museums abroad, such as the Museum of Copenhagen, at a cultural event of the National Institute of Culture, at an exhibition of the “Societe du Palais de la Civilisation” in Canada, in universities in America and Europe. It was transmitted by Euronews and another 41 foreign channels.

A series of five thirty-minute episodes, shot in locations in Epirus and Albania where original material was filmed for the first time, due to the repressive regime of Ember Hodja in the past. Participated and received awards in International Festivals. It was screened in museums and universities in the USA and Europe. “Epirus” was distributed to 700 schools in Epirus and Albania as material for the teaching of local history.

Twelve ten-minute dramatized documentary films about Socrates, with the participation of distinguished scholars of the international scene. Also the twenty-minute film “Life and Times of Socrates”, based on ancient Greek texts. The “Year of Socrates” participated and received awards in International Festivals. It was screened at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi, as well as in museums and university libraries in the USA and Europe.
